Learn Africa to reward best NECO candidates

The Learn Africa Education Development Foundation has concluded plans to honour outstanding candidates in this year’s Learn Africa-NECO Excellence Awards. LAEDF is the corporate social responsibility arm of Learn Africa Plc. According to the foundation,the institution of the Learn Africa-NECO Excellence Awards is in furtherance of the company’s commitment to the promotion of academic excellence. The company made this known in a statement obtained by our correspondent on Thursday. According to the statement, the presentation of the awards will take place between November 24 and 28. It explained that there were two categories of awards: national and state. The national awards , the statement added,would go to the overall best three candidates – Nder Samuel of the Vaatia College, Makurdi, Benue State (first); Adesokan Sakirudeen and Raji Quadri both of the St. Francis Catholic Secondary School, Idimu, Lagos State, who came second and third respectively. “As ...

But while life for members of the family may never be the same again, Omole Iyayi, the third child of the activist, says they have no regrets as they believe he died for a worthy cause – that of ASUU and nation’s education. “He is no longer there for us. We no longer spend good time together with him at the weekends and favourite spots in Benin metropolis. Yet, we have no regrets. It was part of what made (him) Festus Iyayi.
